Ragley UBU sausageWe have launched our new
Ragley Pork and Pure UBU sausage

The hand-linked sausages, created by Ragley Estate Meats’ highly talented chefs and butchers, are a delicious combination of Ragley rare breed pork with caramelised onions and Pure UBU ale, made by Warwickshire brewer Purity Brewing Co. The meat is filled into natural skins ensuring a premium speciality sausage.

Ragley Estate Meats will also donate 10 per cent from the proceeds of sausages sales to the Help for Heroes charity, which raises money to support wounded servicemen and women in the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force.

The award-winning Pure UBU was chosen as a central ingredient for the sausage because it is a distinctive premium amber coloured beer brewed using 100% English Maris Otter Malt with Challenger and Cascade hops, making it balanced and full of flavour.

Vanda Cookes, from Ragley Estate Meats, said: “Our chefs and butchers worked very hard experimenting with different ingredients to get the taste, smell and texture of the sausages just right.

“We are delighted with how well the Ragley pork and Pure UBU ale have combined and I’m sure both our customers and ale lovers will enjoy the sausages. With summer quickly approaching, the sausages will be a great addition to any barbecue.

“Our meat is locally sourced, which was recently recognised when we won the Champion of
Local Produce - Retailer category at the Coventry & Warwickshire Food & Drink Awards 2009.

Help for Heroes Logo“Ragley Estate Meats is also incredibly proud to do our bit to support the amazing work undertaken by Help for Heroes.”

Paul Halsey, Managing Director of Purity Brewing Co, said: “Purity and Ragley Estates Meats are two Warwickshire producers that share a passion for supplying our customers with the very best locally produced products.

“I’ve always believed that premium ales can be matched with fine food to enhance the dining experience by bringing out mouth-watering flavours. The Ragley Pork and Pure UBU sausages I can are an amazing fusion of food and ale, which we have tasted ourselves and can fully vouch for their quality.”

Worcester WarriorsGet sizzling with Warriors Sausages!

Warriors are ready to cook up a storm at a sizzling Sixways Stadium this weekend by giving supporters the chance to tuck into a brand new banger dedicated to the Guinness Premiership giants!

The fantastic ‘Warriors Sausage’ has been developed and exhaustively tested by local producer Ragley Estate Meats - and it is already proving top of the league with our supporters!

Ragley Estate Meats, based near Alcester, are famed for a scrumptious range of individually handmade pies – made to a secret family recipe - their famous faggots, prize-winning sausages, burgers and dry cured bacon as well as organic free range chicken.

And now they have created the new Warriors Sausage after working with our in-house team of dedicated and passionate chefs led by Lawson Shuttleworth with the perfect combination of local, rare-breed pork, black pudding, Worcester Sauce, tomato and selected seasonings.

Warriors fans have already had the chance to tuck into the new sausage with tasters at recent Guinness Premiership games and from this Saturday at our home game with Saracens the club will be selling ‘Warriors Sausage and Mash’ in the Scrum Club and in the South East Food Village Kiosks.

Brian Ryan, Sixways Events Manager, said: “We are delighted to have been able to team up and support another leading local business in the current economic climate, following our recent partnership with Malvern Hills Brewery to offer Warriors Black Pear.

“The new Warriors Sausage has been hugely successful on taster days and we will now be offering it around the stadium in selected on match days and is also available to purchase from the Ragley Estate Meats chop.”

The super-tasty Warriors Sausages are handmade at Ragley Estate Meats using prime cuts of pork reared on the Ragley Estate. Many of the pigs are rare breeds, mainly Gloucester Old Spot, and all are fed a well-balanced diet including home grown barley and wheat.

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver recently showcased the importance of animal welfare in his TV programme ‘Jamie Saves Our Bacon’ and Ragley Estate Meats always ensure this is a top priority with their pigs living in open barns, with natural light and straw bedding. They have plenty of space, and are free to run around, play in the straw or simply bask in the sunshine. Because happy pigs make tasty pork!

“We have really enjoyed working with Worcester Warriors in creating the sausage and it is great that as a top class Midlands Team, they are supporting local produce. Here at Ragley, we take great pride in the welfare of our animals and the quality of our meats to ensure that our customers get the best. We are really grateful for all the support we have received from the club and hope to continue to work with the Warriors in the future in bringing our products to the Fans.”
